This is new.  Yarrow, who has been 100% house broken for the past couple of months has relapsed.  Normally she whines, maybe even pants, looks at the door then back at me, I get the leash and into the yard we go.  But I guess it's because the normal schedule of long hikes with the occasional sprint has been absent for nearly a week, she's getting more and more antsy.

She's had 3 accidents and one close call since last night.  A friend with Airedales told me that she seems to remember her last spayed girl also having a relapse in the potty department.

Pretty normal?

Thanks for that.  I'm sure when Yarrow is 5, the trying details of this ordeal will be foggy for me.  I'm glad you have some knowledge of what I'm talking about and  I will see how it goes the next 24 hours or so.  So far so good today since noon-ish.

Sounds encouraging! Hoping the trend continues!

Yarrow was whining at 6 am.  I took her out for a big pee and then we went back to bed.  So far so good since noon yesterday.  I think it's all about her pent up energy and being off the routine of hitting the trails twice a day for a good hike.  Reverting to watching her as an 8 week puppy again seems to be just the thing to avert accidents.

But I have learned from someone else's conversation that the loss of estrogen can cause leakage from the bladder. :( Had I known about the link between estrogen and the elasticity of the bladder, I might have waited until her body was more mature, and spay after her first heat.  That's my 'in hindsight' thought.
