Well we have a 1 week + 1 day count down for Christmas. How will your Doodle make out under the tree.

We have Daisy, and 2 Grand Dogs, Sophie and Lily, and a Grand Kitty Charlie Bean. There are plenty of gifts under the tree for all - but wondering "is this over the top silly or what?".

What constitutes over indulgence for a pet?

We have  purchased a few stuffies on sale in the past couple of months - they are in a bag in the guest bathroom bathtub (don't see whey this space can't be used for something, it also hides extra TP and Paper towel). I also purchased antlers for each of the dogs, some chuck it balls & and a new scratch post for Charle Bean the cat.

I'm done, I think, well maybe, somehow I am sure something else will make it's way into the tub.

Oh man...Spud is home from the vet.  He got the Works!!!!!   A stocking filled with: A shot in the butt, 14 days of oral antibiotics, and 10 days of otic suspension drops, however the vet kept the ear hair.  Maybe I can make a nice ornament out of that hair like Karen got for Jack.  EWW

See, some vets even over indulge.

Poor Spud, what a Xmas present! I hope he's better soon!

Poor Spud.... I hope he gets better soon...

But that's funny. I told my daughter that she got spring term tuition for Christmas!! LOL!

That is REALLY a nice gift Kyoko.  Serious.  My sons would be thrilled.  They might get Socks from me.  LOL

My dogs get antlers.

I think we are over the top every day.  Peri gets to go to daycare 1-2x per week so she gets presents all year long ;)

Since dogs don't know it is Christmas nor do they have any expectations I consider any gift I buy my dogs *more* for me and my enjoyment.  You can't spoil dogs with toys...not in the same way you can spoil kids if you buy them everything under the sun.  So I think it comes down to a choice of spending issue: your money/your choice -- but the doods aren't going to love us more or less either way.

I know you're right, Adina....but it SEEMS like they love me more when I give them treats and new toys.  LOL

Haha!  For some reason it never looks that way to me.  I feel like chopped liver when there are treats involved...stop bugging me Mom...GIMMMEEE that treat!

That's putting it logically and succinctly and I totally agree!

Jackdoodle is a very deprived doodle. He gets nothing at all for Hanukkah or Xmas, other than a little "people" food in his dinner bowl. He has no idea it's a holiday, and he really doesn't care about anything other than playing fetch or eating something yummy like fresh salmon or a beef trachea. The greatest gift I could give him would be to spend an hour (or 10) throwing a ball for him.

His groomer gave him a stuffed toy and a personalized Xmas ornament with a lock of his hair inside. He was interested in neither, lol.

Deprived here too :)  I'm merely restocking their bone supply.  Not yet sure if they've been good enough for Antlers ;)
