Proposed new laws in Australia will make it easier to destroy stray dogs

Hi all,

Proposed new laws in Australia will make it easier to destroy stray dogs, without providing sufficient time to find their owners, or rehome them. Please vote "YES" in the following poll:

Please Retweet and Facebook if you can too!

Thank you :)

This is very sad. I voted in the poll.

I'm a little confused though. It sounds like this has been a law for some time but is now being enforced. Is that correct? If so, why now?
I too voted.
Hi Ricki,

The Government has been getting a lot of flack in the media about the numbers of dogs in shelters, and this is one way they intend to reduce them. It seems it's cheaper and easier than clamping down on pet shops and puppy mills, and avoids offending the powerful Pet Industry lobby :(

Best wishes
Linny
Thanks for your reply! That's just nasty and wrong though!! It sounds like a law that needs to be changed!!! :(
Done. So far the yes is overwhelming - good luck!
I voted and shared on mine and Hunter's Facebook pages, Hunter said she will encourage her four legged Facebook friends to vote too ;-) Very sad.
