Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I have been feeding my puppy who is 17weeks Iams Puppy food for Large breed. I have been noticing she is super gassy/ loose stool. .. I am thinking about slowly changing her food. She has been on this food since we got her at the breeders at 6weeks.. The past week we have been noticing the abundance of gas and lose stool of course the same week she got her lyme shot and her trifexis pill. I am not quite sure what else it could be. Over Christmas she got new treats, which we thought could be the problem so we immediately took them away. Has any other doodle owner been through this or have any recommendations. Over the weekend we did the chicken in rice and she seemed to decrease her gassiness, Then we switched back to a full bowl of regular food yesterday morning and her gas was more frequent.. which made me think maybe it is the food. Has anyone else had this problem with this brand of food?

Hi Lauren, we have a very large and active group here on DK called The Food Group, where we have hundreds of discussions and lots of advice about these issues. Please join us. http://www.doodlekisses.com/group/thefoodgroup
We also have a list of recommended food brands. http://www.doodlekisses.com/group/thefoodgroup/forum/topics/recomme...
All of our recommended brands are made in North America without ingredients from China, artificial preservatives, by-products, corn or wheat, and none of them is owned by one of the huge multi-national corporations which purchases ingredients through third-party food brokers.
As you will see, Iams is not one of our recommended brands. Iams is owned by Mars Inc, since April 2014, was previously owned by Proctor & Gamble, uses some of the worst ingredients out there, and was the biggest cause of death and illness in thousands of pets during the 2007 recalls.
We also have a recommended treat brand list. http://www.doodlekisses.com/group/thefoodgroup/forum/topics/recomme...

Thank you for responding.. I will be sure to check out the list!
You may also want to do a search here for Trifexis. (Type "Trifexis" into the search box in the upper right hand corner of any page here on the site.) A lot of people's dogs have had bad reactions to Trifexis.
