Sadie is now 12 weeks old.  She is a bundle of love.  She and Skye play almost all day long.  When I let them run free in the garden it is a sight to behold.  Its like watching an old Peanuts cartoon. I swear they dance!  My biggest worry has been Sadie putting everything, and I mean everything, in her mouth.  I bought a book on plants that are dangerous to dogs and found out many of the plants in my garden are toxic.  My JRT's were never mouthy in this manner. We gave them tons of toys and chewies and that seemed to work.  Skye is mouthy but not with every flower in the garden. He seems to be more interested in pieces of branches from the pine tree but we also have an Oak and in my search for dangerous plants I came to find out that all parts of Oaks are also toxic. Now I know I am a new doodle Mom and don't want to be worried if this is not the issue I think it is. So I am asking folks how they handled training their dogs around plants and if mouthing proved too dangerous to let them be in the garden unsupervised.  For now we are always outside when they are outside and we are teaching Sadie about Ah ahs.

I am lucky that my two only seem to eat grass and chew on sticks. I think many of us have toxic plants. I would make eating all plants a strict noon for now but at 12 weeks she needs to be out only under constant supervision anyway.
We have some lists of toxic plants and information about them in the Danger Group.
