Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

So my family and I just brought home our newest addition, a 9 week old labradoodle, Sam. At the vet last week (his 8 week check-up) he weighed an astounding 12 lbs! Does this seem like the standard size for a labradoodle, or do you think I will have a massive doodle? Poor Sadie (our goldendoodle) she's a mini weighing in at 20 lbs! :)

It's so hard to tell :)  Baker was just 5# at 8 weeks & he's now 90#...

the rule of thumb is double the weight at 4 months & add 10#...it's too early to predict :)

That's true! Thanks :)

Boris was nine pounds at 8 weeks but a little underweight (according to me!) He is now sixteen weeks tomorrow and weighs 30 lbs so I reckon he will be 70 lbs fully grown...we'll see.  His older brother Riley is 55 lbs and the formula worked out correctly to predict his final weight.

My large Rosco weighed 19# at 8 or 9 weeks and continued to gain 10# per month.  He topped out at about 90#

First, congratulations on adding Sam to your family.  My six-year-old labradoodle, Wally, weighed 12 pounds when we brought him home at eight weeks.  Now, he weighs about 49 pounds.
