Pustules on body

My wonderful Finn has been getting small pustules over his body for the past few days.  He is four months old.  They are hard, and scab over.  They don't seem to bother him at all.  Any ideas?  I don't see any fleas.  He's up to date on his vaccines.  I do have an appointment at the vet but wonder if any of you have seen this.

Are they just on his tummy or everywhere - such as face, legs feet, etc.

Quincy had numerous scabs that at first I thought were ticks on his lower neck, upper back.  I think it was from being nipped at Day Care by other dogs when they are rough housing. Vet gave him an antibiotic and he is fine. Hope all is well for Finn.

They aren't on his tummy.  They're on his back, legs, head, nose, ears....They are definitely not from playing.  The are hard, round, papules, that scab.

There are a number of conditions that might fit what you are describing, but most of them also involve itching. I don't think anyone here (or in any on-line discussion forum) would be able to determine what it is. I'd have the vet take a look, hopefully your appointment is soon. :) Please let us know what it turns out to be.

Just back from the vet.  She said it's bacterial.  Gave me some shampoo and antibiotics. Unsure as to the cause.  I'll do the shampoo and give him a trim to allow some air to get to them.

Finn had his shampoo and his first haircut today. Hopefully, this is going to do the trick.
