Raincoat

Hi everyone! I never in a million years thought I'd be the type of person who asks this question but:

 Do any of you have recommendations for a good raincoat or poncho for your doodle? I live in the Pacific Northwest and now that it's winter, Higgins (my 7 month old goldendoodle) and I are getting used to walking outside the pouring rain. He doesn't seem to mind the rain, in fact he always seems very happy on our rainy walks, but it'd be nice to not have a dog that is SOAKING wet when we get back to our apartment.

Given that he's still a puppy, I'm a little worried he will want to chew any raincoat we put on him, but I'm definitely open to trying something, especially if you all have recommendations for something that worked well for you and your doodle puppy. Any suggestions much appreciated!

Hello fellow PNWer! 

Just wanted to say hi... I live over in Vancouver, WA, so I know the challenges of our weather and dogs. I don't really have any recommendations, though. Orwell and I try to walk when we have a sun break, and even then I let him dry off in the laundry room where there is tile before he is allowed to roam the house again.

We are in the Seattle area and I understand your dilemma. We have raincoats for all 3 of our dogs. The one I like the best is from Ruffwear as it covers their chest and belly more than the other ones we have and keeps it dry and clean. That said Ruffwear is not cheap and you might want to go with a cheaper option until your puppy is fully grown.

My dogs' coats are from Worthy Dogs and American Wrappers. Both fasten underneath with Velcro.

This is what I got off Amazon. The price is cheap enough to see how it works - $12. They have very cute designs. I've only used it once on a hike and it did it's job including bringing smiles to everyone!
