Reaction to bordatella vaccine?

Cooper had his bordatella vaccination yesterday morning and has been lethargic since, normally he is up and down the stairs in our house several times a day (and definitely always at bedtime) but he didn't come up last night. He is alert just more mellow then he normally is.

It is just hitting me now that I should be worried.

The vet indicated that he might be tired afterwards but I got the sense it would be more of an immediate reaction, not a day later.

When my husband cleaned up after Cooper this evening he said it was diarrhea. I feel so awful and hope that this will pass. 

On the positive side he is eating and drinking normally.

I plan to call the vet first thing but hopefully there are some reassuring words.

I'm sorry to hear this. JD gets the intranasal bordatella vaccine and has never had any kind of reaction, nor have I ever been told that he might be tired afterwards. Did Cooper get a shot? 

If the vet told you he might be tired afterwards, this must be something they have seen before. I wouldn't worry, just keep an eye on him.

I agree. Just watch and hopefully it will pass. My dogs have never had a problem after vaccination.

Cooper seems to be back on his way back to his old self....Came upstairs and made himself at home in bed last night and was ready for a nice walk this morning. Thanks for the feedback and concern!

good to hear!  btw- Quincy had the bordatella before going to day care at PetSmart.  He got kennel cough, anyway, but it is said to be a more mild case when they are inoculated
