Our little guy came home with a bit of Giardia. :(  We gave him one dose of Panacur (5 days) but that didn't take care of it completely so we are starting a fresh batch again. He absolutely hates it and clamps his jaw down. Any ideas how to get him to take it without totally manhandling him? Can we 'hide' it in something?

The vet also recommended we give to our 2 cats as well. We don't know for sure they have it, he just wanted to be safe rather than sorry. They did pretty well with it last night but definitely were not thrilled. Anything we can do to make it easier on them?

Thanks in advance for your help. :)

Try mixing the Panacur into a small amount of plain meat baby food; chicken, turkey, or beef. The cats will love it, too.

Are you cleaning his butt and disinfecting all areas that have had contact with his poop, both indoors and out? That's extremely important, otherwise, he can keep reinfecting himself.

Thank you for the recommendation, we wiill try that tonight. I just hate having to give it to them and would try anything if it makes it easier on them.

Yes, we have been cleaning very carefully. The vet said the levels had gone down, which is good but still a bit there. :(

Let us know how the baby food works. :)

The baby food worked like a charm for him. The kitties didn't care for the baby food but this morning I put it in a small portion of wet food and they ate it up. :)

Thank you so much for your help... the whole house thanks you.

You're very welcome, I'm glad it helped. :)

I am glad that the baby food worked for the puppy.  We used peanut butter to hide pills.
