Skye is eating smaller more frequent meals now that we have a second puppy. He really like the grain free Taste of the Wild small size kibble. His stools are great and his appetite is back. Today our heat wave broke and I took him for a walk late morning. He had eaten twice, each time a half a cup of grain free kibble. After our walk I went out to run errands.  When I came home Skye seemed fine but I found both meals regurgitated on his blanket.  They looked like kibble that had been soaked in water. Should I be concerned? Sadie, who is 9 weeks had one quarter of a cup with each meal and kept all the kibble down but she is too little to take out for walks yet because she doesn't have all her shots. So she didn't get as much exercise. Our walks are nothing hugely strenuous.  I am just concerned because the only other times Skye has done this is when he gets car sick.  I have been reading about poodles having sensitive stomachs and wanted to learn more about how to handle feedings if this is the case.

I know a lot of people think poodles have sensitive stomachs, but I've noticed that it's mostly people who've never had a poodle who think that. None of my poodles had stomach issues. My labradoodle does, though. My point is that GI issues in our doodles have nothing whatsoever to do with their poodle genetics, it's something that is individual to each dog.

Exercise right after eating, even just walking, could have caused the regurgitating, but it's difficult to know. I'd keep an eye on him, and if it continues, he needs to see the vet. I hope it's nothing.

I agree with Karen. Also, any dog can regurgitate once in a while but this should not happen regularly.

Perhaps he ate too quickly? My last dog did that when he was too hungry and ate too fast.

Now that he is on grain free food, are you over-feeding him?  Grain free portions are smaller.

We walk Bodi first, then he eats.  This works better for us.  Hope this settles soon!

I have an 8 month old labradoodle and he has started regurgitating his food. He eats earthborn holistic grain free kibble and since he eats so fast we feed him from a cupcake pan (slows him down). After he eats we put him in the crate (we call it castle..lol) for about a half an hour. We don't give him water 1/2 hour before or after he eats. It sounds like a lot of work but it has helped him a lot. We also don't let him out to play for about an hour after his meals.
Not sure if this would help but it has helped us. Good luck.
