In Canada we call it Remembrance Day, our Royal Canadian Legion, celebrates this day, with a parade, the laying of wreaths at the cenitaff and 2 minutes of silence.
Then they pour the beer, and serve lunch. They toast to "fallen comrades."
My father served overseas in World War II , he came home.
I always observe Nov. 11, in some way, to say thank-you for the contribution he, and many thousands of others made, And mostly to those who did not come home.... to them and their families, THANK-YOU for keeping us safe and FREE.
I also must not forget, the CANINE contribution to all the wars. They bravely and nobely served and should also be REMEMBERED.
I wear my "poppy" proudly.
