We are going to be replacing the dogs deck and have been racking our brains with what to use. I found this product that I think will work great it should dry fast, be cool to lay on, not allow ice or snow build up, wont rot, and easy to clean. The only down side I can see is that the spacing may be not that great for puppy feet if we get a second dog but how about for an adult doodles feet. What does everyone think and if you have come across a different product that may work better let me know.

The thruflow link you attached looks like a torn toe nail to me.  Have you looked into composite decking?  Our friend who also has a doodle has it and it holds up very well.  A bit pricey but...

I have composite decking and its been fine with the dogs. I don't know if this decking would bother the dogs but my dogs do avoid most grates, which are usually wider spaced than these, though. But BG has a point I think about catching nails.

I'm not sure where your deck is but they had a pretty neat set up at our Costco store - they are squares that click together like hardwood (they are composite) - I was really interested at first because the price was great but our deck is not covered and I figured too many maple keys would get caught in the cracks BUT if the deck was covered or not around maple keys, it was really cool!!!

the side of the house thier deck is on doesnt get that much sun so it doesnt dry out well and isnt covered. I could get an outdoor carpet to cover most of this decking material for the nail issue and it should still dry because of the air circulation thru flow material has. Ive looked at the composite decking but the life of it can be reduced if it cant dry out all the way.
