Just saw this posted on craigslist.  Help... if anyone can go get these guys I will help foster.  I have a funeral this weekend and cannot get there, but I am nearby in the next county.  Can anyone help these gorgeous Doodles?

Someone heartlessly turned their two beautiful dogs in to the Mahoning County Dog Pound. Because they aren't lost and no one is looking for them, the pound CAN PUT THEM TO SLEEP AT ANY TIME!!!
If you are able to offer these innocent playmates a forever home - or even if you can only save one - PLEASE CONTACT THE POUND ASAP!!!

I put the info up because I couldn't get it to work either... please, if anyone is nearby and can get these two out of there I will take them until homes can be found. This is breaking my heart!

Typically for an animal control dog pound, they are not open on weekends. No one will be able to reach them until Monday.

Thank you. I was just devastated to read about this and kind of panicked. I have emailed the shelter and hope that when they open on Monday morning there are many, many people lined up to adopt/rescue those beautiful dogs!

Call them. The Mahoning County Animal Shelter has answered the phone on weekends. Leave them a message, leave your phone number, tell them you want the dogs, then call them first thing Monday Morning. It will be busy for the first 40 minutes on Monday--keep trying. They are busy but the guy that answers the phone is pleasant and wants to work with you.

Things may have change but this was the way it was 2 years ago.

Oh and P.S. there is a group in Youngstown called Angels for Animals. They also answer the phone, have an excellent reputation in that area and may be able to pull some strings for you. This area has an overwhelming amount of dogs and may welcome the help.

If DRC can assist in finding foster, I can contact the shelter and go get them on Monday. I think Youngstown OH is about an hour away from me. Someone please give me a hollar.

Okay DKers - this is serious!
Too many doodles are being dumped by their 'people' into kill shelters.
If I don't get fosters to volunteer they won't be saved.
There are doodles in Iowa, Indiana, Arkansas that desperately need YOUR help!
Even if you can't foster for more than a few days, can you keep them until we get the Doodle Train
moving to get them to a long term foster home.

I also need more Doodle Train volunteers.

Please, can you find a way to open your home for a doodle in need whose only crime was being
taken into a home where their 'people' didn't have a clue about life with a doodle.

Can you tell I am begging????
