Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
In another discussion we were talking about using voice fluctuations to teach commands. In some situations, that may not always be possible for some owners.
I hate to add a cliche here but sometimes we have to think outside the box. What works for some might not work for others.
Saw this today and it made me smile. I can see some doodles doing this too. Happy Training, no matter how you teach, 'COME'.
Have a Good Day :)

LOL, I don't know, Joanne. I think dogs' hearing is a lot more sensitive than cows'. I know that when my grandson was trying to learn to play the clarinet, it made JD whine very loudly in protest. :)
LOL! I am the youngest of a family of really bad horn players-clarinets and trumpets. My sister used to play taps to me at bedtime. Horrible.
I think dogs move faster too
Thus, we have Pink Floyd's Seamus sung by a Borzoi.
OMD....clarinet is the worst :) I played it for years very badly. Prided myself on never practicing. LOL
Joanne, you were so kind and thorough with your advice to the OP. Made me want to give you a long distance hug. Truly what the caring people on DK are all about.
My co-worker just rescued a 2 year old boxer mix and boy is he a handful! I worked with her the other night and she asked for advice on teaching come (where do I begin lol). She said he only will come if she says peanut butter. Guess what - peanut butter is your new come command. Doesn't matter what word you use - as long as the dog understands what you want.
What a great command! My next dog will not have 'Come' as the command word. I hate yelling it out in my yard or in public.
How nice of you to help. She has no idea how lucky she is to have you as her helper/trainer. I could only wish.
Thank you about the OP. I love her already.
You're Welcome, F. It's what we needed around here today, I think :) MOO to you
I am willing to buy a trombone if the dogs would come when I played it :) This was fun, Joanne!!
OMD! Fabulous! The end where the cows mooed at the correct time was priceless! Cows don't care if he isn't very skilled? Skip played trumpet - maybe he should get a new one and teach the dogs and take it on the road! :-} Or maybe I should get my trusty kazoo out????
Nancy, I can see Skip playing a trumpet to your doodles. I'm even seeing you both playing in a little traveling van with your pack..
Even more, we should start the DK " Music Group: Playing music to your doodles"
