Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Hello, I have tons of love and snuggles, great home and will treat my doodle as the most esteemed member of my family , besides my cat. I live in Los Angeles, CA....Doodle must be housetrained, good with cats to point of even not bothering to chase or get to know him...I think the cat will come around in time. Ideally medium sized and color is of no matter, although I do love the white, black and apricot colors. No matter male or female. My cat is male, 13 years old and very interactive. Thank you for emailing me at chiroqueen@yahoo.com. I look forward to hearing from anyone with a doggie for adoption, rescue, rehome, etc. Possibly a doodle needing fostering depending on circumstances is also a way I can give back. I look forward to hearing from you and meeting more of you on this site..you guys have some amazingly adorable doggies...I hope to join your ranks soon with my doggie/me mug! Happy Doodles...Lynn Doodle Doodle Doo

In addition to the doodles available through the DRC program, there are regional listings of doodles available through other rescues and fosters, so you can also check the ones in your area. Recently there have been several doodles needing rescue in CA : http://doodlerescue.org/group/doodlesinneedinnorthamerica/forum/top...
And here is an application to foster doodles for the DRC: http://doodlerescue.org/page/foster-application
Fosters are always needed.
The demand for doodles in rescue far exceeds the number available, so you have to be proactive in your search. Submit applications to your local rescue groups and the DRC before you see a doodle that might be a good match for you. It is not at all unusual for the DRC to receive 50 applications for a single dog. There are also adoption requirements that must be met, such as previous dog experience, vet records, and in many cases, a fenced yard is also required. Good luck in your search.
Wow..thanks so much..this is totally terrific..love that pix of Jack..what a babe!
Okay..Mustard seems in need, he is in OC..so I can call on that. And follow up later today when I get a break..will do so..time is of the essence here for these doodles..thanks Karen..I so appreciate the help and the support..it has been like a glorious full time job and then some to find my doodle and they are few and far between. It is worth it..what is the best aspect of your doodle?
I'm a little different from most of the DK members, in that for me, it was not about doodles but just about dogs. I'm a doodle owner by accident. I've lived with poodles (and one poodle mix) all my life, so when I looked for my next companion after my last poodle died, I was just looking for a nice adult dog with some poodle in the mix, not specifically a doodle. I had submitted an application at a local shelter, and when Jack was relinquished, they called me. To be honest, I really didn't want such a big dog and I certainly didn't want one who shed- Jackdoodle sheds as much as any purebred retriever, and then some. But he won me over, lol. I couldn't name any one "best aspect" about Jack, but his sweet, stoic, uncomplaining nature would certainly be high on the list. I'm not sure that's a "doodle" thing, though. It may just be Jack. :-)
I have not heard about Mustard...hope to hear about him soon.
This is great and succinct. I did go to the doodlerescue.com and also asked about Mustard who is on the doodle rescue...hope to hear from them soon. If anyone knows..lemme know. Thanks.
Hi Lynn! I'm in LA too! Welcome to DoodleKisses! I love it here! Hope you find your pup soon =)
Thank you so much Joanna, Zoe and Bender are delish! Can you recommend the best dog parks? I am located near Beverlywood area, Culver City, Mar Vista..etc.
Thanks.
If you do adopt a rescue dog, you have plenty of time to find dog parks, because it's not a great idea to take a rescued adult dog to a dog park until he/she has been with you for a good period of time, has bonded with you, and has had enough time to relax and let his true personality show. Not all dogs are good candidates for dog parks. There are a lot of pros and cons to dog parks, and you will find many discussions here on DK about this.
Very excellent points..thanks Karen.
