We are conducting a research program, in conjunction with Dr. Lynn Davis at the Ambrose University in Calgary, Canada, and we are taking applications for program participants! Puppies will be available in early 2011 for placement so participants must enter the screening process prior to December, 2010.

If you have a history of "invisible" disabilities, with treatment verification, you may qualify for this important program.

Participants will be training their own service dog puppy, under the direction and supervision of the Gabby Jack Ranch. Your commitment to this program is critical.

While there is an initial fee for the puppy ($1800), you will be eligible for compensation upon completion of identified program levels. We will help you with community fund-raising program ideas and support, upon request. (Gabby Jack Ranch puppies comply with the Doodle Kisses regulations for breeding and selling puppies; breeding dogs are fully tested and have been given passing scores or better. Each puppy comes with a genetic health and short term wellness warranty, and can be returned to the Gabby Jack Ranch if ever the recipient is unable to keep the dog.)

You will keep the dog and continue to follow up with the Gabby Jack Ranch, according to your desired participation. This is a lifetime commitment to your assigned puppy.

Participants must be living in California during the program, preference will be given to those people living in northern California.

There is no set age limit on participation but participants will be selected based on their ability and desire to commit to training, using the Gabby Jack Ranch  training protocol.

If you would like to have a puppy raiser working with you, we will train you and the puppy raiser for this project. The puppy raiser must live in your community and provide you with regular access to the puppy so that bonding can take place between the puppy and the participant.

Please contact the Gabby Jack Ranch at info@gabbyjackranch.org if you are interested in learning more about this important program.

I can't wait to follow this discussion as your participants get their pups and training commences.
I appreciate that, Nancy, I'll certainly post when we get the ball rolling!
Good Luck Jac, wishing you the best from Canada.
Thanks Todd! I'll keep you posted!
Oh Jac, this is just wonderful news. Jacquie Yorke and I have been sending all applicants to DRC who are looking for a service dog to go to Gabby Jack Ranch. These pups are much more suitable for service work than our rescued doodles who have "baggage". Congrats!!!
Thank you, Liz, this means so much to me!
This is very exciting! I'll be looking forward to watching this all unfold.
Thank you, Jane!
How interesting! I can't wait to follow and hear more about this.
I'll update posts as news comes in. Thanks, Denise!
