Shaved ears and tail?

Before I post a picture...which may be a long time because I can't bring myself to take one......does anyone have a picture of a doodle with SHAVED ears and tail???????

I can beat any groomer horror story you've got....promise!  I am so angry I can't begin to put into words what I am feeling without using numerous expletives.  Murphy had some matting on his tail and coat.  He swims quite a bit and they get worse everytime he gets in the water.  He went to the groomer today and I knew she would need to do some repair work on the ears and take his tail down very short.  I was worried about the tail but had accepted it.  I went to pick him up and he is cut exactly like a Schnauzer.  She shaved his ears and tail along with the rest of his body.  Not only are they shaved they are all choppy with some long pieces here and there.  It is the most awful thing I have ever seen.

Did I mention that my sweet Murphy now has SHAVED EARS and Tail??????

All I can do is cry.

I don't want to post a picture because it is so awful.......everyone here is so supportive and I know you would feel like being kind but it is impossible.  There is no way this can be fixed and there isn't a liar on the earth good enough to be kind about it.

I have never seen a doodle with shaved ears....have you?  Anyone?  Got a picture?

I am going to go back to crying and drinking now.

I agree, too much got left after the groomer scalped your baby.  I also agree, that Murphy is still cute.  I have to say, this picture is not nearly as bad as I was geared up for it to be.  

 

I would be furious (omg, there's a pun in there: fur-ious.  sorry.) at the groomer!  That's just not cool.

 

The good news is that it is just hair.  Like any haircut, color or perm we've ever done in the past, it does grow out.

 

You really do have a cute dog.  And I'm sure he really, really loves you!  :-)

Top would be fine, just shorten that beard and sides of muzzle up a bit.  He will look much more even :)

You know what, I think you prepared me pretty good for this ...... It does look like her clippers need sharpened or something, but I think if you just take the beard down a little he will look a lot better.  I wouldn't take it completely off, maybe down by about 1/2.   I personally would leave the top of the heard and just trim the beard.  I realize that you are traumatized, but honestly, I've seen a whole lot worse.  I don't think that it will take very long at all for this to grow to a length you will be able to tolerate.  Thank goodness it is the summertime and not the winter.  He will have a great time swimming now, and you won't have to worry about his doing so.

He looks cute. I know you don't think so.... I think the groomer kept his head and beard t keep a sort of doodle looks.

His hair will grown in no time!! ( Although his "cut" does look choppy and not even, though )

I'm with you Ronna!! This cut sincerely SUCKS!!! OMG!! I'm with the others-bring the beard and stache up and it should really help. Not much you can do about the rest except wait. Someone on DK said it is 2 weeks between a bad haircut and a good one so hopefully it won't be long and it will be bearable again!! I'm really sorry this happened!!  Wow, I can really see Murphy's awesome eyes now though!! That part is good!! :)

Oh, poor baby!!  His tail and back legs definitely look a bit choppy.  I do Chase myself and clip him short all over in the summer because he likes to swim.  I do his ears and tail short, but not that short.  I agree that you should trim his beard and the poof to try and balance his face.  Here is a picture of Chase in his summer do!!  Even though his coat is short, I think you can still tell he is a doodle!
