Fiona is a 10 month old Goldendoodle F1B who has recently, within the last month, started to shed excessively. She went through a little shedding as a puppy around 3 months, that didn't last too long and had stopped until about a month ago. Her coat looks thinned out and I'm not sure if she's shedding and getting her adult coat, or if this is something that now we will have to live with. I'm hoping she goes back to being a non-shedding dog! Does anyone have any experience with this?

She is around the right age for the change to adult coat, so it could be that she is going through the change and isi shedding out her puppy coat. However, all doodles have the potential to shed, even the F1b type. So it could be that she is just going to be a shedder.

Exactly.

And many doodles who did not shed as puppies do shed as adults.

Could you elaborate a bit more on the Puppy vs. Adult coat ?   Anything specific on my Toy Teddy (see post below) would be appreciated.  I'm surprised his coat at 6+ months is wavy...it was more curly poodle when I got him at 7 weeks....looks like he is closer to 3/4 Retriever than 3/4 Poodle.

I can't help you there, still not sure what my Teddy will be doing.  Haven't noticed any hairs at 6+ months, and his coat is wavy like a Golden Retrievers.  Which is surprising, since he's a Toy and has more Poodle than Golden, I expected a curly close-to-the-body coat.  But it's long and wavy (at least so far).

Saw a Standard Doodle a few months ago (5 months old) and her coat was like foam insulation or bubble wrap.  And she was only 1/2 poodle. So I'm somewhat surprised at Teddy's coat, but I realize genetics isn't an exact science on something like hairs.

Plus, I remember the boys on "The Brady Bunch" had straight hairs when the show commenced and then they went curly after a few years !!  LOL
