Shedding/ Coat question.....

Darby is 5 months old now. She had her first puppy cut last month because she was unevenly fuzzy and scraggly looking. Darby has never shed. Even when I brush her I used to get barely any fur at all. Well she seems to be shedding now. When I brush her I get a ton and I have even seen hair around the house for the first time. My question is this... Have any of you noticed the shedding all of a sudden? Also, Does this mean that Darby will always shed or will she go back to being a non-shedding dog? Is this early to be blowing ehr puppy coat?
Ok sorry, that is three questions...

I am curious about this too. Peri has not started to shed yet and she is 6 1/2 months. I have heard they start "blowing" the puppy coat later - around 8 months or after.
I am going to follow this discussion because I hope they don't just start shedding when they haven't until now!

Lilly is 17 months old and she has wavey hair and loose curles. I have always seen hair around the house, laying on the stairs, sticking on the sofa and in corners. When I brush her I can hardly get 1/2 of a brush full of hair and when we pet her there is no hair. They say puppies go through about 5 coat changes before they are a year old. This might be 1 of them for Darby. I do think if she is shedding this much now she will shed later, Hopefully not so much after she gets her adult coat.
