Those of you with shedding doodles. What were their coats like when they were tiny pups? (Straight, curly, wooly, silky, wiry, hairlike?) Do you have any pics of them as new tiny puppies? I am just curious as to whether their are any tried and true predictors of adult coats in a young puppy. And shedding or not all doods are wonderful. I am just curious how breeders advertise a 3 week old puppy as shedding or non shedding that soon.

Samantha's coat the day we brought her home at 11 weeks was as smooth, silky and straight like a Labs. As I look at the picture now, I see the 'cowlick' waves starting on her back.
She does not shed a hair!
WOW, and to look and her I sure would think she would shed........very cute!!
thanks - I saw that face and I was hooked!! I had no clue about doodle myths - I am very lucky that she doesn't shed!!

Is she F1, F1b F2?...

Samantha is F1, so is Rosco (Adina's red beauty)

Beautiful! - I would have also guessed she would shed.

Would you take a guess as to whether Clancy sheds or not? { The answer is yes! Lots.}  We got him as an adult so I have no idea when he started shedding or what his coat was like as a pup.

Hartley is Samanthas twin. Here he is at twelve weeks old. He does shed though. Not as much as a lab, but he does shed.
definitely twins!!!!
This is Yankee at 8 weeks. His hair is pretty straight but you can see curls at the bottom of his ears. He does not shed at all!

What kind of pup is with Yankee? They both are adorable!! After I look at it now, it looks like a stuffed animal, is it?
He really is just adorable!!
