Hi this Wednesday I have to travel to Madison WI  to pick up My son's King Charles Spaniel, they need my DH and I to babysit Lucy, which is no problem at all.  The problem is do I take Wilson along in the car so he knows that Lucy is staying with us for a few days.  I know it is silly but you will all understand I don't want him to feel left out.   I just don't want to come home with LUcy and say Surprise look I have !!!

Last time Lucy visited there was a struggle with the toys, so I am going to put those away, in all they do get along.   Also in April when they visited the backyard was so very muddy, but now it is dry so they should be able to play and get along better.

  Lucy is a ""princess" lol

 Thanks

How would you restrain both dogs in the car? I think putting them at such close quarters with no possibility of getting away from one another is a risky thing to do.  In the house or garden they can choose to hang out or not.  Bringing Wilson with you isn't really telling him that Lucy is coming for a visit it just says you have to share the car with her.  Personally I would not bring Wilson but I would give him lots of love when you do bring Lucy home.
ooops sorry forgot to mention that Lucy does ride in a car carrier. But you are so right bringing him with is not worth the frustration.       I will give him lots of love you can count on that !
I take Rua with me whenever I can.  I guess it would depend on how long the ride is.

Jack goes with me everywhere I can bring him, which is just about everywhere. I plan on bringing him when we pick up my mom's puppy in August, They will each ride in their own car seat on the way home.... I think either way they will be fine because I hear Adina's voice in my head saying " your dog will have no idea you just had an adventure without them, they live in the moment," LOL..

I still would bring him but that is because that is what I would want to do and I know Jack loves adventures, does great in the car and wouldn't care about another dog being in the car as long as they had equal positions such as the back seat.

I think I should be okay it is only 1  and one half hour trip  not too too bad, besides I like Wilson's company in the car, I can talk too him and he just looks and smiles at me
I would have a hard time leaving him behind????
When I purchased Oliver I brought Sasha along with us to help us pick a puppy and when we went to pick Oliver up Sasha came with us. I wanted them to get aquainted outside of the house so there was not territory issues. Sasha was 10 months old and Olive was 10 wks., I wanted to get another puppy before Sasha got too old and that they would be close in age. The car ride was about two hours, we kept Oliver in the front seat and Sasha in the back, after a while we put Oliver in the back w/Sasha because she was so intrested in him and the both fell asleep. I never had an issue with bringing Oliver into the house.
I made my decision I am going to take him with me !!  I just love having him with me all the time too!! "And I will make sure that Wilson and Lucy greet each other and play first before we head back to Green Bay !!  Oh Boy  what a week it will be !

We got LUcy yesterday, all went well, Wilson sat in the front seat Karen my daughter Sat in the back of the Van, Wilson was actually pouting, oh boy it was funny, but we kept telling him we loved him, We took Lucy to Wilson's favorite Park and he was happy to be there and run, they got along very well,

Time for dinner for LUcy, she ate upstairs in my daughter's room,  after she was done she came downstairs with my Daughter Karen,  Wilson snuck upstairs, he put his two long legs on the stair landing and looked to see if we were watching him (we were)  he gallops up the stairs, so karen sat in between the two pups, well when LUcy was finished eating she took her plastic bowl and showed it to Wilson, she is a Sassy King CHarles.

They did get along last night, but Lucy knows where the toys are kept and started looking for them, (took them away so arguing )  I am just trying to be preventive,

Last night they were touching noses, Lucy would bark and Wilson would just look at her !

Today we will be going for a morning walk, and maybe an adventure to Door County!!

Sorry this is long and I am sure I am missing some points, but this morning they are getting along very well

We of course are making sure Wilson gets alot of attention and a few extra "Treats"
