Sick Doodle

Hi All- I had a question about my goldendoodle pup who is about 18 months old.  Lucky has always been healthy and strong.  But he has had a cough for about 10 days now.  It sort of started out of the blue and is usually the worst in the AM.  He coughs when he gets up and some times spits stuff up.  He also sporadically coughs in the day and sometimes at little night.  I took him to the vet and they gave him  antibiotics which he has taken for about 7 days.  The cough is slightly better but not much.  He still coughs in the AM and a few times through out the day.  Still he seems happy most of the time and has a lot of energy and his appetite so he seems ok besides the cough.

As a first time doodle (and dog) owner just wondering if anyone had any advice or have seen similar cases.

Thanks to all for the help and nice wishes.  His cough is about the same, he coughs mostly in the AM when he wakes up.  I am taking him back to the vet tomorrow so hopefully they will figure out what to do as it has been two weeks.
