I took Aspen out for her morning potty break after breakfast and she pooped normally. I started to praise her when she started to squat down again. She stayed squatting for awhile and it didn't look like normal poop. It was long and stringy... Like what I would imagine a worm would look like. :(

She then started pulling her butt across the ground. She has never done that before. Her breeder dewormed her the night I picked her up, which was on Wednesday evening. Did I miss giving her a dewormer? I'm a bit concerned about her.

How do I fix this?

Thanks!

I noticed a worm in Annabelle's poop one morning. The poop looked normal other than the worm on top. The vet gave her a dose of Sentinel Spectrum when I took her in and then a schedule for 2 more doses before I could resume her normal monthly dosage. She was 5 months at the time and had been on Revolution since she was 10 weeks. I had not missed a dose.

I noticed Annabelles on a Sunday morning. Since they were closed I took her in on Monday. My vet does walk-ins as well as appointments so it was easy to get her in. I would call your vet tomorrow and see what they think. I just wanted it dealt with asap. When they are given the first dose it kills the worms and for the next 2 or 3 days you will see more worms come out in the poop. Then the second dose gets the next batch. So you will probably be dealing with worms for a month if that is what she has. With Annabelle it was obvious.

Did you bag the poop so you can bring it in with you? Annabelle's first worm was alive and moving. That was the only one she passed that I saw until she was given the first dose. Then the rest that came out were dead.

Has she been chewing on a rope toy, rug or anything else that might look like that?
