Hi Everyone!

Indiana is 6 months old, and over the past month the skin on her belly has been changing from a healthy normal light pink to a sort of ashy gray.  It is definitely not dirt -- she's had loads of baths and we realize the difference between her skin and something on it.

I'm just wondering if this is normal and if anyone else has experienced this?

Chance's skin color began changing from pink to a more neutral color at about 7 months.  This can be a normal process or symptom of disease.  In Chance's case, it was not a disease symptom, but only your vet can help you answer this question.

Luna's pink puppy belly has mellowed out to more of a brownish pink.  I can't remember when it happened, but this is the colour it is now and she is perfectly healthy :)

I wonder if this has anything to do with rose nose. Puppies are born with lightship noses and the piment gradually fills in. My guys have rose noses and their skin remains clear pink.

Maybe!  Luna was born with a black nose and she now has a slightly rosy brown nose (she gets snow nose in the Winter too).

I guess maybe just more pigment all around, including the belly?

What colour are Calla and Luca's nails?  Luna's are half and half - clear but striped with black pigment.

They both have clear/white nails.

Makes sense to me then - less pigment on nose, less pigment everywhere else :)

My 5 month Golden Doodle's belly is doing same thing, in fact after bathing him we noticed he's darker all over. His hair is cream and nose black.  Looks like a Polar bear. No worries :)

We have had the same thing with our goldendoodle. I think it's just the transition from a baby puppy into a young adult. Why can't they always stay a baby?
