Today, we just got our first taste of snow in good ol' Minnesota.  As I walked Albus outside this morning to do his business -- half-asleep at 6:30, mind you -- he gets a sudden burst of the zoomies and proceeded to almost yank my arm out of its socket.  I wish I had a video of it, it was so darn cute!

After that ordeal, he just came inside to rest...

Also, whenever there's a layer of fresh snow on our deck, sometimes he'll get the zoomies on it.  Or he gets confused and pees right on the deck, LOL :)

Do your doodles do anything funny when snow first starts falling?

Oh you don't know how much I wish I could...Gracie would never want to come home!!!
well, if you ever find yourselves wondering thru these parts you are always welcome!!
For those of you who have yet to experience the wonderful snowy winters with your doodle(s), here is a little of what you have to look forward to. This was the result of no more than 5 minutes outside. Lucy had so much snow caked to her legs she could hardly walk (she was hopping like a bunny), but she still did not want to come inside. I had to get my boots etc., on and go out after her.

These look like some very happy Doodles. I remember last year people posting photos of their Doodles with what looked like cotton balls stuck to their legs. I can see you go through lots of towels!!! ha ha
Oh yes, that is what Murphy looked like! Great photos.
I HOPE we get some snow this year! We got a little bit last year and Callie loved it!. Since I was still able to very comfortably wear shorts and a t-shirt outside yesterday, I'm curious about what kind of winter we're going to have! Highs down to the low 70s today, so at least we're heading the right direction for winter!!!
Any suggestions on cleanup when they come in from the outside during the winter? This will be chloe's first winter and I can't imagine what a nightmare it'll be wiping her down every time she comes back in. She goes outside from our kitchen sliding door and we already have a small carpet there when she comes back in. When it's raining I always wipe her down when she comes in. I can't imagine the amount of water she'll be tracking in the house when it snows. Do you just keep a bunch of towels handy?
We moved back to Ohio from FL and I have tons of beach towels. I just lay a path from the back door to their room and put a big ole old comforter down on the floor in their room and they go in there until they are pretty much dry. Sometimes I'll dip their feet in some lukewarm water to help speed the melting of the snowballs.
Albus! Is that a very happy smile on your face?? I think so...Wilson absolutely LOVES SNOW! He cant wait : )
I think Albus is dreamin of building a Snowdoodle!! We normally get very little snow here but with there being a "La Nina" weather pattern this year we may get some for Tara to play in!! Otherwise it is about a 45 minute drive to Mt. Ashland and LOTS of snow and fun!! Tara had a ball there last year and she LOVES to dig and do snow zoomies too!
Warm water is the best thing I've found to get rid of doodle snowballs, we get lots of them. The good news is they are the worst with a fresh snowfall and are not quite as bad after the snow has been down for a few days. Quincy does all of those things described from the zoomies to potty confusion. It is funny watching him going around with that puzzled look on his face, where did all the grass go.
I have learned to love the cold & snow because Jackdoodle's allergies are almost non-existent in winter! But it looks like it will be quite a while before we get any snow here in Chicagoland.
