Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Well it finally snowed in Southern Wisconsin today and Yeti had the time of his life! He could have played outside ALL day if we would have let him. 10 minutes of play left him all snowballed up though. I'm not really sure what to do in that situation. I have heard to use a blow dryer to melt them but boy oh boy does he hate that, so we put him in a warm bath. Obviously that worked but it left us with a soaking wet doodle for a couple of hours. Now every time we go out he wants to play but i'm afraid we just don't have enough hours in the day to spend on snowball removal. Did a quick search and found that generally people are happy with the muttlucks attire. I'm thinking about getting him a snowsuit, possibly boots, we will see how the suit works out. I saw online they have a snowsuit and a rainsuit.
The question is, I am not necessarily getting this to keep him warm so would it be smarter to go with the rain suit? My thinking is the snowsuit (or rainsuit as the case may be) will help keep the snow from collecting on him. His hair i would say is medium length, which we plan to keep throughout the winter/spring. What are every ones thoughts?
Also for you wonderful people who own a muttluck snow or rainsuit, what size did you get? Yeti is a medium goldendoodle who weighs about 30-32 pounds. I tried to measure his back today but he was not having it so well have to wait until dad gets home so he can help.

Thank you so much! You know i never even considered that the snowball problem wouldn't be something that we deal with every day.
The snowsuits were discussed in this recent thread, and they apparently do help keep the snowballs away. http://www.doodlekisses.com/forum/topics/should-my-doodle-wear-a-wi...
Oh karen thank you so much :)
With a name like Yeti, does he need snow gear?!?! ;-)
LOL!!!!
Thank you thank you thank you for the much needed laugh on this snowy monday morning :).
Great response!
Snow suits are great for keeping the snowballs at bay. I can't imagine going back to snowballs all over Haley and how long it takes him to dry out. Also, I feel boots are equally important. Haley loves to play fetch in the snow and without boots he gets ice clumps between his pads which makes running (and even walking) uncomfortable.
Haley (great name by the way ;)) is absolutely beautiful!!! I could stare at his long coat all day long. Thank you so much for the advice I think i will hop on over to muttlucks today and order him so new snow gear!!!
Thank you. : )
My Haley actually has this suit https://www.neopaws.com/catalog/rainbodysuitraincoat-p-1838.html.
The Muttlucks is insulated which I don't feel Haley needs. The Neopaws is un-insulated. It also an optional hood which comes in handy with heavy rain.
I like this much better than those lycra bodysuits.
