Any ideas on cleaning all those balls of snow on their feet and legs every time they go in and out? Fergie is having so much fun but she's worse than a kid - in and out, in and out. All full of snow. I have to say it is so adorable though.

Yup, this is the ONLY way that has worked for us in dirty or snowy feet :)
First thing that comes to mind is covering the paws with syrup and have the pup lick her paws like they were snowcones.

I agree with Ann though. We used to take our pups to Tahoe during the winter and we would set some warm water and a towel or two next to the door. Then we would just turn the snow balls into water and dry them off. We are used to drying off paws up here in the NW but the snow in Tahoe through us through a loop the first couple of days. Wet carpet and hardwoods are no fun. Don't get me started on if they come in wet and hyper. Especially our Chalk Doodle. We could never tell if we got all the snow off.
I have the same problem. I tried a towel and rubbing and that gets some off but not all. Sadie was full of them the other day so I put her leash on and hooked it to the door, she looked like she was pouting, I laughed and took a picture then she turned and wouldn't look at me when I called her name.. lol. A few minutes seemed to be long enough, I was then able to take the towel and they came off. She was wagging her tail and bouncy again so I think she forgave me. I think Fergies coat is thicker than Sadie's though so it may not work as well for you.

Here are the pictures

That is adorable!!! That is a good idea to sit them in one spot until it melts.
I don't think she thought it was so great.. LOL

But once the little balls of snow softened I was able to take the towel and rub them off easily, as she gave me little doodle kisses. She's just 6 mos old and her coat is still coming in so I'll have to see if that works once it is longer and fuller.
I like your idea too Lynn I just might give that a try to This morning I kept Willy on his leash tied to the door and it was a little easier getting the chunks out of his paws He was not as Fiesty about it,
Too darn cold for a walk this morning hoping this afternoon will be better
Those pictures are the greatest. Thanks.
When I lived in Alaska we used Pam on our dogs feet to kept the snow off!
Does this make the dogs feet greasy???
I like the Pam idea... did you just spray it on the feet ahead of time?? Nala is a definte snow lover, I think it was because she was born in December! She'll be two on the 16th.
A few days ago I was spending about 10 minutes picking out snowballs and drying her off. This was getting annoying everytime we came inside so I decided to shave/trim all of her "fuzzy" hair off. This was the best thing I ever did! I wish I had thought of it last year... jeez. Even if you don't want to shave the whole body, I would suggest (if you're into the idea) at least trimming the feet/toes and maybe halfway up the inside of the leg. This is where Nala had the worst snowballs... her toes especially. I took some scissors and made sure the hair was really short in there. Now it's only been a day, but after taking her out to play in the snow 2 times now, i've only picked a total of 4 balls off her feet (compared to 50 or so)! YAY! The hair will probably be fully grown back into the shaggy look by the time the snow is melting in a couple months....
Good luck! Message me for tips or any questions pertaining to grooming or training!
