MAKE SURE EVERYONE KNOWS I DON'T AND I'M NOT SAYING ANYTHING BAD AT ALL.
I'm kind of curious. Do you think there is a market for these dogs at these prices. They have a labradoodle trained to what they call the elite level - already passing their CGC - price: $8,400.
My point being - Fergie - and many many of your dogs are worth $8,400. Fergie was glad to hear that but I had to go on to tell her she's worth more than that. We all know they are worth that.
Nothing different than horses. Most Class A horses are not shown by their owners. In fact, most of them have never been on their own horses. Yes, thousands and thousands of dollars are spent on that and you can't even snuggle a horse.
Leigh - make sure you know I wasn't saying anything bad about this at all. I've trained Fergie myself and now I'm doing Lucy - much more of a challenge - and as I said an already trained dog is an expensive and time consuming endeavor. I applaud Rolling Meadows and the work they are doing and yes, everyone needs to make a profit. We all need to eat. Maybe they'll even get some business from this post - who knows. Good Luck to them. I wish I lived closer so I could do volunteer work with them.
If I were rich and famous, I would pay someone to train my dog. Yes, training is bonding and all of that, but I would love to have an animal that is highly trained - oh, yes, could I send my kids there too? Wait, how about my students? And in the educators group there is a discussion about rude parents going on. Could we send those rude parents there also? Now that would be worth the big bucks!
Yup - I love that whole musical - used some of the music in my wedding. I am glad to be reminded of it. Perhaps I should have sung If I were a rich lady, I would pay for a highly trained doodle, dada dada dada dada da!!!
...all day long I'd sit and file my nails
while the doodle walked himself.
I wouldn't have to clean poop
He'd do it for me, then he'd tell himself to sit and down and stay...
