Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Greetings from North Dakota!

We are new owners to an F1 standard doodle "Tuggy"--who just won a new custom collar/leash! Since he's only 4mos. old, I'm trying to guesstimate his full-grown neck size so I can order a collar that will fit him in adulthood...anyone with standard doodles who can help me out? His neck is currently 11" and I think he is about 14-15lbs.

My options are:

  • Neck Sizes 14-18" (1" collar strap width)
  • Neck Sizes 16-20" (1" collar strap width)
  • Neck Sizes 18-22" (1" collar strap width)
  • Neck Sizes 20-24" (1-1/4" collar strap width)
  • Neck Sizes 22-26" (1-1/4" collar strap width)

Thanks for your input, and I look forward to being part of the forum! :)

Daisy is 3 on Oct 21st, she is a standard and 70#s, we buy her 16"-20" and have for over a year now.

There really is no way of telling but I think she is normal neck wise.

I think he should be okay with the 18-22'', depending on how long you will keep his fur. Monty is 83 pounds now and his neck size is 17''. His neck size at 4 months was about 13'', but he was also 32 lbs. So you might even be fine with the 16-20'' collar since it seems your puppy might be a bit smaller. In any case, if you are like many of us, you will have a collection of fashionable collars for your doodle.

Thanks for your replies! I think I'll probably go with the 16-20" :)

I have 60 and 75 lbers and use 16-20 so I think you will be fine.

Zack is 3.5 and 90 pounds. He is thin and wears a 15".
