I was so surprised when I read this article in the New York Post.  It was claiming that there were a record number of dog bites in New York this year, and that tiny dogs were a big part of it.  Not surprising, Pit Bulls and Rottweilers were the top biters.  Next were the "tiny dogs", Chihuahuas and Shi Tzus (also not a surprise)... with number five being Standard Poodles!  I've never thought of Standard Poodles as biters...

Does this make sense to anyone?

Ha....Taquito (chihuahua) bit our niece after we told her about 20 times to get out of his face and stop poking him in the eye.  They just won't put up with people messing with them - napoleonic complex.  T. gave her a warning nip (seriously did not do one thing) on her nose and she went ballistic.  Now the parents actually tell her to stop bothering him......
It sounds like Taquito was only defending himself!  I must admit that chihuahuas are definitely a lion-hearted breed...
Even with the biting reputation, most dogs of all breeds are not biters!  It sounds like your dachshund is a sweetie!
