Hattie had a pee accident last night in the house so I took that as my cue to relent and get the medicine for her. It can't be fun to be wet all the time or even part of the time. We are doing a 10 day trial to see if it is going to work. If it does, it will be for life. If it doesn't then the next step is a specialist. I'm not crazy about putting her on meds this young, but we will see what the next few days bring us in results. From researching the web I see there are many other pups her age who have been put on it as well from early spays and have never had a problem. Are there any DKer's currently using Proin?

Are you sure this wasn't just one of those accidents that young dogs have randomly? A lifetime medication is a big intervention.
Good luck with her. I hope it works out.
poor Hattie:(  we are thinking of you gals and hope things get better soon!
Kipping fingers and paws crossed that this is a good solution that works without any side effects.  I am on a long term medication for another medical issue every day for the past eight years and it's for life.  It is working and no side effects that i can discern so this is possible.
I obviously meant keeping and not kipping which in Irish slang means sleeping!
Good luck to you and to Hattie.  I will hope that this medication works like a charm and no other intervention will be needed.  Many of us are on long term medication and have successful outcomes with side effects much less than the problems of the 'illness.'
Sweet Hattie girl, hoping for the very best outcome. I'm sorry you both are going through this worrisome time.

Have you ever been so tired that you misread sentences on the internet?  During my daily check of Doodlekisses, I ran across your entry and thought it said "Started Hattie on Porn for her incontinence" -- I had to blink twice before reading it again.  That would have been a new concept, huh?

Anyhoo, I hope that Hattie recovers and that "Proin" is working!

Ellen, I do this all the time.  I read signs completely wrong and they always turn into something very rude!!!  I can't even repeat most of them and just laugh to myself.
fingers crossed!!!!
Sandy, keep us posted on how Hattie's handling the medicine! I'm hoping she does just fine!
Sandy, This is good news! I believe it is all going to work out :)
