Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hi everyone - we've had our Aussiedoodle for for years now and have never met another one.  We're really not interested in the play groups, but would prefer to meet others who own these lovable dogs to compare notes. If you live in our area (Sterling, Reston, Herndon, Leesburg, even a little further out in Loudoun County), please feel free to contact us.

Thanks so much!

Hi, have you posted in the Virginia group and the Aussiedoodle group to see if someone is near you?

No; I haven't found the Virginia Group here.

We have an almost two year old Aussiedoodle and have never met another one either! We live in Florida, but if you ever have any questions about our Sophie girl I can answer from afar!

Oh, thank you Katie!  I'd love to compare notes, because we think Aussiedoodles are quite awesome!  Our girl is very lovable, always happy (except when she's left behind when we take our other dog for a walk), comical, and very smart.  She just loves to play and will do so unless we make her quit.  She likes to retrieve her toys and bring them back.  If we don't pay attention to her right away, she will drop the toy in our laps and nudge it further up until we throw it again.

She has some funny quirks, like laying on the bed on her back, with her head hanging off the edge, her hind legs spread out and front legs pointed out in the same direction.  It really is funny to see.  During the night she is on and off the bed, and we can always predict when we're going to hear the "plop" as she she lays down on the floor.  I call her my "flopsy mopsy" stuffed toy.  She is so cuddly and soft.  In the morning she makes a funny, gutteral sound when she wakes up, and sometimes does it other times as well.

Cydney likes to "announce" her presence when we take her outside; she's more of a barker than our other dog and can be very vocal.  In fact, she made her voice known from the day we brought her home at nine weeks.  My, what a bark she had.  Our other dog didn't bark until he was about 12 weeks old.  She is constantly turning around to look at us when we walk her, as if to make sure we are still there.  From the time we brought her home, she followed our other dog in a parallel line and copied him, sniffing where he sniffed, etc.  Sometimes I think she is trying to herd him.  And she ALWAYS has to be first; first out the door, first up and down the steps, first in line for treat, and must always be ahead of ouro other dog if we are walking them together.

Cydney is absolutely crazy about my husband; it's almost scandalous!  :-)  She gets so excited over him; she'll rise up on her hind legs, like a little bear, and snuggle him with her head and paws, twirl her tail in a circle.  My husband said he's never met another dog quite like her, and he's had lots of dogs throughout his life.  Honestly, if I had the money and a back yard with a fence, I think I'd have two or three of these precious dogs.
