Maddy is almost 5 months old and has been wearing her new collar and tags for less than a week. She wears a stainless steel name tag with our cell phone numbers and a plastic Avid tag with her microchip ID number and Avid's phone number to call in case she is lost. Sometimes she chews on her tags and the plastic one is getting pretty chewed up! It's almost to the point that it'd be illegible to someone who did not already know what it's supposed to say. I've checked Avid's website to see if they sell a metal version of the tag that you can purchase but can't find anything...I will write them an e-mail shortly. But I was wondering if any of you have any suggestions for what I can do to insure she has that Avid information around her neck? Thanks!
Yes, they both have Home Again chips. Most people I know have Avid chips in their dogs.
I couldn't read all the numbers on Abby's plastic tag, they had Molly's teeth marks on them. That is why I got the metal Home Again hang tags for them.
When you take Maddy to the vet have them scan her chip. Molly's chip is where it should be, Abby's migrated to the middle of her back.
They wear three tags-Home Again-License-ID. I don't mind the noise, I can hear Molly when she jumps to get on the furniture. I am able to say off before she lands even if I am in another room.
I had a dog that always chewed on her tag. We got a collar and had info embroderiered on it. She just turned 5 and I just put a tag on her collar that does not entice her.
