Sweet way to memorialize past fur babies

I saw this online and thought it was a really sweet way to remember past fur babies.  I have a heart shaped tag from Winston my spitzapoo who past last year at the age of 15...broke my heart.  Here is my favorite picture of him... Loved the little pink heart shaped freckle on his nose...

 

Here is a picture of the altered dog tag that I saw online... I think it would make a really cute charm for a pendant.  You could decorate it any way you wanted or just leave it simple...

I had two of my dogs names but on a small dog tag ( it is silver with small black heart) and I wear it all the time. I got the idea from the ower of a local pet store who was one wearing this great charm. It turned out to be her dog's tag who had recently passed away.  I loved the tag and the idea, so I ordered one on the spot ( it was a line carred in the store).

I still haven't gotten over the loss of my best dog ever, Hondo.  He died over a year ago of liver failure.  We had him cremated and have his ashes in a beautiful carved box in our living room, and a carved memorial stone in our garden.  I don't think I could wear a necklace, however.  Cute idea for those who could do this, but too personal for me.
