Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I may be too busy to reply, but will definitely look for advice.

I am fostering the 2 younger doodles/poodles found last week in Chicago. I pick them up tomorrow. Can you believe my husband agreed? They have had all the vaccines and are being spayed/neutered tomorrow. I have met them twice, and they seem healthy, friendly and well adjusted for now. Hopefully they will end up getting along with my 2 pups. I have arranged things at home to keep them separate initially.

Anyone who has advice re: fostering, etc I would appreciate it. Also, my dogs had all been early neutered, so hopefully things will be smooth for these two as young adults.

Wish us luck! Marie, Hoka and Moxie.

Good luck and thank you so much for helping these dogs!

Good luck, this is a great thing you're doing!

Marie, what a big heart you have to take these two fosters with two dogs of your own. Please know that we are all here to help and support you. Thank you!

First piece of advice: Your dogs come first. They eat first, they get treats first, they get attention and affection first, before the fosters. It is the opposite of when you have human guests.

Marie, thank you so much for helping these dogs.  It's wonderful of you to do this.

What a great thing you are doing. No advice here though.

Oh...Bless you and your husband! What a huge heart! I have no advice,, but looking forward to seeing lots of pics ! Good luck

Marie, thank you so much for doing this.  I don't know if this is a good suggestion - others who have fostered multiples might know much more, but I would introduce the dogs separately.  One of yours and one of the fosters in a neutral place - like front yard????  Then the other foster, then your other dog and each foster.

So wonderful. Thank you and I so hope it goes smoothly

You must be very special to do this for these poor Doodles.  Thank you!

You are a hero, so glad to hear someone was able to take these two.  You probably already do this but both my girls have to leave the kitchen when I get their food (or ours) ready, once I set their meals down they are called one at a time to their bowls.  We have no stampede and each knows where to go.  I wish you tons of luck with these new kids in your house, they are so lucky.

Here is my advice .... Take a nap today!  Just kidding.  How wonderful that you are taking these two on!  Things will be a little crazy for awhile, but then it will become the norm.  Take lots of pictures and try and enjoy the process.
