Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I was going to post this in the Cottage Doodle group, however since summer is coming I am sure that many people will be travelling with their dogs and may find this information useful. Here is a list of things that I bring with me to the cottage to ensure I meet Gavin’s (myriad of) needs.
If you will be in one area for an extended period of time, like at your cottage or trailer, it is a good idea to introduce yourself and your dog to a vet in the area. In small vacation towns, there are no emergency animal hospitals and some vets will not see your dog in an emergency unless you are already a client.
You will likely not see much of me over the summer, but I will check in from time to time. Enjoy any vacation you decide to take and keep your doodles safe. Please feel free to add to this list as it is by no means exhaustive :)

What a great list, thank you. Enjoy your summer!
Thanks Jarka!
Great list but I would add a couple of things, Gas-x and peroxide.Have a great cottage season!
Good call on that Gas-X, Donna, especially if there are no emergency vets.
Quincy's bag is the first one that gets packed and I have a first aid kit just for him. :>)
I don't even have any of this in the house - I'm going to have to look into this! Thanks, Donna
Added! Thanks Donna!
JD and I don't travel, but this will be very helpful for those who do.
Enjoy your summer BG and please do drop in when you can!
My list is shorter but you nailed each item I bring. 1. 10. 14. 18. 19. 22. and when we are in the place we visit every summer, we are quite familiar with the vet! :-} We keep duplicates of this stuff in our RV. I always Frontline the dogs before we go.
Hopefully not TOO familiar with the vet Nancy!
Great list. I went on a 2 week vacation and Camus stayed with friends. Most of what you listed was in his supply bags, 3 bags not including his kibble. I was almost embarrassed when I carried everything in. Addition to the list were his special toys!
I know what you mean Christine - when Gavin goes to the dogsitters in additions to the bags, there are always lots of special instructions. Luckily she does not make me feel silly at all, just listens intently and says "of course!"
