I just want to say that I really appreciate doodle kisses and all of its members. Before I found DK I visited other dog and some doodle forums. Although some of these forums were really informative and helpful, almost all of them sometimes got to be a little mean. By this I mean that some of the people participating in the forums would be really snarky and sometimes downright mean to others. I thank everyone on here that DK is not like that. It is the most supportive and wonderful community of doodle lovers I have ever had the pleasure to communicate with. Thank you for being so supportive!

Hey Kelli,

Our second doodle was a rehome doodle. Joe was in New York in the Adirondacks and was living on 135 acres in the mountains. The lady who had him wanted to find him a new home after 4 weeks. There were multiple reasons why, but nothing to do with the nature or personality of the dog. I showed my husband the photo and read him the post someone had placed on the breeder's site. He said, "Let's give that dog a home." I thought he had lost his mind. I contacted her and she GAVE him to me ! She wanted him to have a good home, and I passed the phone interview. All I had to do was pay for the air fare. Java Joe was 12 weeks old when we got him. Capp was 8 months old when Joe arrived.

I never thought we would have two doodles and a total of three dogs! The second doodle is not nearly the work the first one was. He did follow the lead of his brother who is 6 months older. He is a quick study and knows all the commands his brother knows from three levels of training, and the two doodles have two totally different personalities. One is mellow and can be stubborn at times, but loves with every fiber of his being. The other is rambunctious and full of life, and when he is happy wants to carry objects that belong to you in his mouth. I guess that is the retriever instinct. They do adore each other.

I don't regret adding the second one a bit, and I was the skeptic! Good luck to you on your 2nd doodle quest.
