I heard on the radio today a story about a dog named Mason.  Mason was blown away literally from his home during one of the many storms we had a few weeks ago. Yesterday Mason was found near the rubbish of what was left of his home, He had two broken legs and many other injuries yet he was so loyal to his family that he managed to crawl his way home to be with his people.

That kind of loyalty instantly brings so much emotion in me. I so wish people including myself could be half as loyal as Mason,  He didn't make excuses for why he couldn't come home, (and believe me he had valid ones) He just did what he had to do to be with his people. Another very good reason I am more of a dog fan than a people fan.

Is that the same dog whose owners couldn't keep him after showing back up because they didn't have a home any longer (because of a tornado)?  Now the dog has a benefactor trying to find him a good home.  I heard that story yesterday.  It made me so sad.  I would like to think that if I lost my house due to mother nature, I would find a way to keep my doggie =(
No, this dog as far as I know this dog was taken to the vet and is now with his family reunited...

There were TWO dogs in this situation - both made national news.  Mason is different - beagle I think?

Such a good story.  DH and I wondered if Peri would make her way back to us. I sure hope :)

oh good =)  I heard a similar story on the radio yesterday, but it wasn't a happy ending for the dog as his family didn't want him back.  So sad.

You mean this dog       mhtml:https://api.ning.com/files/ohwZ5IMPgCQju-t8ujMO4*YKf4hkBIOmStMc4RJc33U1bCN6xJXZY2aoWbfx661oG1anmHI0DQw2b0h9I-yUfiBbzNLSzRYG/DogwithtwobrokenlegsfindsownerafterstormYahooNews.mht     Jennifer Chloe and Myla already posted this article.

Your link didn't work so I don't know!!
Awwwww   Im glad he made it back, but I cant imagine the pain he endured.  Poor thing

this was posted as a discussion yesterday by Jennifer,Chloe & Myla...they had a link to the story.

the tornado did not tear down their home but they are struggling....they are not keeping Mason - this broke my heart.

OKay well they reported wrong then because the whole purpose of the story was to tell an uplifting story, they always do that on this one radio station I listen to. They purposely said that the house was in ruins and that the dog was blown away from the house, and somehow the dog managed to find his way home.  They said, the dog was going to be fine and they were happy to have the dog back.....

Darn, the whole point of this story was to be inspiring, not depressing, Did they say the dogs name was Mason in Jennifers post?? Sorry  I missed it I have been watching a six week old baby, (now seven weeks) and I have been real busy and have not read all the posts..

Either way, what a dedicated dog, I hope the family finds a way to keep him

I just read the story that she posted, Mason IS going back to live with his owners in just a few weeks. I don't know what you are reading other then the first paragraph says the owners are unable to care for him UNTIL they get the pieces of their life back together but that the family plans on taking him back in a few weeks. He is doing great...
The family is taking him back as soon as they can, who wouldn't after he made it back home?
