Whenever the mailman, or anybody else gets close to the house or walks on the street Oliver goes crazy!!!!!!!!!!! He will bark for another minute even after they've already left!  Is he just being territorial? Sometimes when im walking him and another person walks by i can feel him tensing up. Is that just him trying to protect me?  How do i get him to stop barking soooo much? He's clicker trained but that doesn't seem to help at all. Any advice would be EXTREMELY helpful!

There was a discussion a couple days ago with a list of things to do to tell the dog you are the leader and never to yell.  one of the suggestions were to growl a low and quiet growl.  We tried this all week...first two days they were totally freaked out.  Zoe kept staring at DH with her eyes wide and thinking OMG!  LOL.  It does work but you have to get in front of them and let them hear you.  I'll try to find the discussion and post a link

Thanks soo much!  IDK why i didn't think of looking to see if there was a discussion before this but thanks!!

I love it when i see multiple discussions about a topic...there is always new information posted :)  I need help on the barking thing too... Bender likes to bark at the door, then the window, then he runs outside and barks at the gate.  It's really annoying and he runs SO fast so one second hes barking inside then 2 seconds later hes outside!

Thanks for the link and oliver runs like a cheetah too!  Sometimes, when there's a squirrel in one of the trees, he'll get a running start and try to climb the tree!

Our dogs bark at things happening outside, especially when we are in our RV.  We finally got fed up with it and bought e-collars.  Magic has happened so far.  Not only are they not barking beyond one yip, they are not getting overly excited about the happenings outside their area.
