The sound of...?
Charlie notices some of the very subtle sounds and knows exactly what that means!
Sound of poop bag unrolling ---- she hear this from another room and comes running! Time for walk!
Zipping up my briefcase -------------- I do my weekly paper work on Sunday night, and once I am done, I take it to the office to drop it off since its due every Monday morning. She hears this zzzzzz ! sound and knows its time for the car ride!
Chime sound the computer makes when I shut down --- Mom is done with the computer and is going to play with me!! She comes running with some sort of toy in her mouth!!
It never fails.. she could be comfortably sleeping on the couch, but when she hear these sounds, she knows!! How about your doodle?

Myla's favourite sound are the car keys!! She also never leaves my side when I grab my purse because she figures I'm going in the car but the funniest is the popcorn maker! We have a very large yard (an acre) and she can be at the far end and if I turn on the hot air popcorn maker she puts her head in the air and then runs as fast as she can to the back door and barks to be let in - she LOVES popcorn!!!

Wendy, I am so glad to hear another Doodle loves popcorn. I was sure I was doing something wrong by giving to her, but she LOVES it too! She does not get a lot, but she would eat the entire bag if we would let her and of course it has no salt on it:)

Teddy loves popcorn too! He comes running when he hears the sound of me pouring the kernels into the pan. He gets 5 pieces from every batch!

Just getting out the pan to make popcorn has my guys running to the kitchen, even from the furthest reaches of the house. Even Gus who is virtually deaf somehow hears that pan :) Opening a bread bag also has them running to the kitchen. I have given medicine in bits of bread and of course I can't give bread to just one, everyone must have a bit of the slice! It is so funny how they can't hear call when it's time for a bath and they are just a few feet away but they come running from upstairs on the other side of the house for certain things :))

Oh yeah, teachers know all about that don't they! I have very selective hearing and can put up with all kinds of noise around me, but if something happens that is inappropriate, I can hear that over all the noise immediately. Took years of training, but my hearing is attuned to inappropriate classroom noise.

When I get her leash out of a drawer in our family -- does not matter where she is, in seconds she is at our feet for her walk!
When I open the Popcorn bag -- she comes running for a sample (no salt):)
When our daughter's car pulls in the driveway with our windows closed -- she is on the rug in the entry hall in no time flat waiting to greet two of our granddaughters:)
When my DH opens the refrig and she hears the Cheese pkg. open - at his feet in her best "sit" position!

These things makes me laugh!! Cheese package! LOL!! These dogs don't miss a SOUND!!!
But the thing about the car... One of my client ( I go to people's house to do mental health therapy for kids )has this little dog, and he swear that I come to see him. And he know my car.... When I pull into his street, I can already see him at the low window, scratching frantically...

Willow knows our car sound - doesn't respond to any other car parked in front of our house. Also she knows UPS truck - again, doesn't respond to any other truck, not even to FedEx.
