Ticks are horrible this year. I keep picking them off Yogi. We are in a National Forest. I've seen at least two kinds on him. They are creepy!!! Can't wait to get home tomorrow and give him a bath in tick shampoo in case I've missed some. Any brands recommended?

Yogi loves the water. We played fetch with sticks until I couldn't throw any longer. He is one tired puppy now! I'd throw the stick in, he'd swim in after it, paddle back, repeat and repeat, and repeat ;-)

I love the les pooches brush. I bought it a month or so ago so I'd have it when the matts started. Well he's almost 9 months old now and wow, this weekend, he's matted around both front legs, tops of his paws, down his legs, underneath his collar, even on both sides of his nose. That brush has been amazing. It has allowed me to brush out every matt without hurting him. Just slow and steady. I was wondering when the matting would officially begin, well it was May 23rd ;-).

Oh Yogi! The dreaded coat change combined with ticks...yuck!!!

Which brush did you get? want to be prepared...lol

Kim, it was the green one. Yogi has a wavy coat. I know they make a couple options depending on coat type. The brush is now made by another company. I can tell you what it is later if no one chimes in once I get home. I got mine from Britain. They are pricey but it saved us for sure the way it worked out the matt. Buy it once use it for years

Oh my goodness Leslie...sounds like you had an adventure for sure...glad to hear the brush is working for you and Yogi:)

I experienced mats for the first time after a couple days of Ragley swimming. It was awful. I felt like a terrible person patiently combing them out. Time for a LP!

Leslie I totally sympathize with you on the tick business. I love to walk Max in a certain area and I've been kind of avoiding it because every time we come home from there he has at least one tick even with tick medication. I hated winter, but now I'm almost wishing for winter walking back just because I didn't have to deal with the darned ticks. :(

What a great weekend you both had. I am so glad that you had the brush handy when you first needed it.

Yikes!  I get creeped out just thinking of ticks.  I'm so afraid I'm going to find one soon - I feel like I'm hearing so much about them this year.  :\  Sorry you've had to deal with them, yuk!

The green LesPooches brush was a life saver with Eloise's coat change!  Hers went on for quite a while; I swear I would just look at her and she matted.  At first I was using a Buttercomb to get the mats.  It worked - and bless her heart, she would just stand there while I pulled them out, but you could tell she hated it.  Then I got the LP brush and it helped tremendously.  I think she was a lot more comfortable (if that's possible) and I love using it to this day.

Ticks...Whewwwww...gives me the creeps! Have only found one on Enz so far and it wasn't attached, just in her fur, but they are gross!
Our LP /ActiVet brush, arrived from the UK this past week. This brush is truly amazing! I noticed it's magical power most, when combing Enzo out, after she has been swimming and dried. Awesome and worth every penny! We too, got the green, for Enz's wavy coat.
