I don't really know which forum to put this in.  But I have a question about POOP.  Savannah seems to have normal poop the first time she poops, (she usually goes twice after she eats and in the mornings...about 10 -15 mins apart) The second poop is what we call "soft serve" loose but far from diarahea (sp?).  Been to vet or regular check ups...no parasites.....Just wonder if anyone else has experienced this and if its normal.  She has been on the same food regimen for 8 weeks,

I've noticed this also in my boys.  Several years ago DH's colon exploded and he had to wear a colostomy bag.  What comes out is very liquid (tmi).  The doctor explained that since the waste was not spending time in the colon the liquid was not be absorbed like normal.  Taking this idea....the second poop has not been in the intestine as long so the liquid has been absorbed as much.  That is my explanation

Tara had this issue until we changed her food. I don't know if the first food was moving through too fast or what the reasoning is but I do know that since we switched foods all of her poops are nice and solid. :)

There is actually a poop group http://www.doodlekisses.com/group/thepoopgroup

I wouldn't be too worried, R&B often have one firm and then a semi-soft. As long as it's not liquid for days on end, IMO I think Savannah is fine.

Bodi does this too, if we go for a very long walk.  I agree with Suzanne (sorry to hear about your son, my son has ulcerative colitis - so lots of poop discussions at our house!).  It is just how long the poop has been in the colon.  If I go for a long walk, I take two bags . . . and maybe a paper towel!

I've noticed this also at the dog park. If we're there for a couple of hours, they may have two poops. The second is usually less firm than the first. I wouldn't worry unless Savannah's poops are consistently soft. A little bit of plain yoghurt once or twice a week might firm things up.

Someone once told me that if the end of a puppy's poop is soft it's because you are over feeding. Don't know if it's true or not but we did cut back by 1/4 cup and it stopped. I do believe we tend to over feed when they give you that "is that all there is?' look.

I also think if you are not feeding a high quality food (see the food group here) she may need a food switch.
