Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
For years I have heard many of you rave about the product, Thornit for dogs ears.
When I do an internet search I find the product with the name Thornit in Europe. On Amazon, Bizrate, and other sites I am finding this product ~ R-7. That is all that is offered when I do the search.
Are they the same? I also see the same yellow container but if you read real close it looks like a different product.
Can any of you give me ideas here on which product you use. What are the differences in these products? Is this what you buy or something else?
I don't really want to remove hair. Every time I do, that is when I have the problems even if I touch the ears once, the infections start. Leave well enough alone.
CREAM - drying ears
Then there is also a cream. The cream, with the same bottle color and design does not contain Rosin Grip. That is another question; Is Rosin Grip the main ingredient? I really don't know about a cream since both of my dogs ears are so moist all the time.
Since I am confused can you help me with these questions?
I have book marked a recipe to make it at home but first I want to try it before I spend all money to make the product myself.

Joanne, here is the website for Thornit
This is where I get it, don't know if that helps.
Thanks for your help. I saw this site but it looked like it is not in the US so I came here to find out where you purchase the product. This website says the US is restricted from buying too much of this product
USA Customers only - Please note.
Due to US customs limitations we can only send 1 large (100g) Thornit per order
I thought we could get this in the US but I guess if comes from outside the States. Thanks all for helping me out. Why then, do I get R-7 on Amazon if this is NOT the product I want. Why would they stear me into buying another product.
Oh well.
Ordering now :) Thanks to all of you if feel like I have the correct product ( for once ) and all of my questions have been answered.
Once I try this, and if I like it, I would really like to try the recipe that was posted in another discussion
HUH is right? Dunno Nancy? Here is one link I saved in my bookmarks. Interesting. There are many more but this one had a recipe to make it yourself.

But ever since I became a member of DK I have read about Thornit.
Yes, I am going to use it as an ear infection preventative. I am really tired of the vet bills and antibiotics. Time to try something else.
My vet will NEVER give me an RX for iodoform. It would take away all my office visits! LOL
