I just read about a new sterilization procedure for dogs that puts a solution called Zeuterin into their testes.  My initial reaction, I must admit, I was appalled and horrified that someone could do that to a dog. Once I started researching it and came across a case study done several years back, I was left perplexed. In a case study of 247 dogs, only 7 dogs "yelped" from the injection, which was very surprising to me. Only 1 dog kicked.  I found that very surprising considering the procedure itself and that I've read they don't use any anesthetic. I was wondering if any of you have done this procedure and if so, would you do it again?  (I'd never even heard about it until last night)...

We had a discussion about this for which you can do a search. It is too new for me to try if I had a dog to neuter.

I don't think it's anything I would try with my own dogs. I don't see what the benefits would be and it's too new a procedure for my comfort.

I found this previous discussion about it:

Even if this does work, you'd still run the risk of prostate cancer. Because of this, it is my opinion that it is still better to snip.

I personally wouldn't go this route with my dogs at this time. It is as others have said to new and risky.
