Thoughts on man being fined for using a Shock Collar

Apparently these are illegal in his Country. I personally am not a fan of shock collars or electric fences unless the owner really really knows how to use them and train their dog accordingly. Then I think they are fine as long as the dog learns quickly and is not continually shocked as in for training purposes

 

Do you think that someday they will be illegal to use in the US, do you think the humane society will step in?

I did what this guy did BUT I did it on my leg, I did not do it for the laughs, I stopped when it became painful. I would not use something like this on my dog unawares. PS I have never shocked him but if I ever do some more traning with my dogs I kow exactly what their collars feel like and would avoid what is really painful.

I have no idea really but I wonder if dog feel pain to the same degree as we do, I wonder if it is more or less or the same?? Either way I no for sure I would not do it past the point of what was comfortable on me. Though I can't see shocking myself either....  I stab myself with enough needles...because I have to....

 

I can not say for certain that I would NEVER use a shock collar and I only feel strongly that people should be trained on the proper way to use them.. I don't feel strongly either way on if they should be illegal or not.. Just educate people..
