I wrote about Brinkley's sore paw the other day. I was giving it a few days hoping to see improvement but I've actually seen him get a little worse (not a huge difference but it's going in the wrong direction for my liking.) It actually seems to be more sore now as he pulls away when I touch a certain spot. It also appears a little swollen, when earlier this week it didn't. We have an appointment Thursday at 5 to see his vet. Here's hoping it's nothing too serious. We started obedience three training last week (on Thursdays), hoping after he completed this round he could test to visit hospitals, but now we have to hold off on completing that for the next round in November. Bummer because he really loves going to training (our trainer is wonderful).
Crossing my fingers he's okay.
Here's a great picture that I took of him yesterday after he fell asleep in the yard:
UPDATE:
Update on Brinkley: Wouldn't you know yesterday I would make a vet appointment b/c I think he's favoring his left leg-- and I thought it looked swollen-- and today I get home from work to give him some TLC before the VET trip-- and he appears PERFECTLY FINE! Not a limp, not a whimper, not a pulling away of the leg when I touch it (all of which he did just yesterday)-- and no swelling. Yesterday he didn't want to do much playing but today he's was ready to go!! Don't get me wrong, this is all good- I just think it's funny that I get all worried that something could be terribly wrong... and then today, not even a hint that something was wrong less than 24 hours ago---and all he can do is bring me his ball and try to get me to play with him. I'm still trying to limit his hard play/exercise b/c I don't want him to agitate anything if he is on the mend. We didn't do a full vet appointment today after all since he seemed fine. We did a quick drive-by and had someone come out to the lobby to do a quick peak at it (to make sure they didn't **think** it could be broken or dislocated.) They seemed to think it looked all right-- especially since he was putting all of his weight on it many times to scratch an itch, etc. So, it's probably a slight strain or sprain or bruise and he'll continue to be on the up and up-- but we'll watch it through the weekend and if he has a flare up, we agreed we'd do x-rays at that point next week. Thanks for all of the well wishes!!

Thanks. I just hate seeing him hurt even if it seems like it's just a little. I want to make sure he's okay.
Sending positive thoughts that it is nothing serious and will be better in a few days. Wouldn't it be wonderful if they could tell us what is wrong. I know it is really stressful worrying about our doods when we don't know what is wrong. Please let us know how things go with the vet. That is one adorable schnoz.
I sure will! I always say my Doodle is like a toddler that never grows up. He gets into things, needs to be entertained and can't ever tell me what's wrong-- just like a toddler. :) It's probably a sprain that will take a bit of healing but since it's swollen and sore to the touch, I need peace of mind!
Hoping whatever is wrong is minor and easily fixed. Feel better soon, Brinkley, you are one cute doodle!
(I cannot believe he falls asleep in the yard, lol! He must have really gotten some good exercise!)
That's the thing-- he hadn't gotten a lot of exercise! He is a very active Doodle and his hurt leg has made him a hyper yet frustrated Doodle. I've been trying to play some games that work his mind without making him move (like find which hand I have something special in, etc.) Our walks have been shorter and our game of fetch has been halted so I've been struggling to keep him stationary yet active. But he does totally relax when I get home from work for a few minutes-- I think he feels content when I get home-- so he took a nap as I sat on the porch and read.
Oh Brinkley! Hoping he heals quickly and that the new class in November will be excellent.
Thanks!
Thanks! Me too!
I hope you find Brinkley is suffering from some little thing and that he is better soon.
Thank you!
Aw Brinkley, you look so content.
I hope big improvements are coming your way. Good Luck tomorrow at the Vet.
Thanks! I love that little face with a BIG nose!
