So Quincy has twice come in COVERED in tiny green burrs that takes us a very long time to comb out!  Today we bribed him with an ice cream container with just a bit on the bottom to keep him occupied while we combed him out.  I can't find the source!  I suspect its the deeper woods up the hill.  Oh well, at least he gets a thorough combing and the DH helps!

I wish I knew what the plant looks like- I tried to google but not successful.

Nasty!!!

I've had those tiny green ones before Donna. What a pain in the old doodle dandy ! :(

That's them!!

They really show up on the light fur- Quincy hides his in his chocolate coat, but they are there!

Me too but I do think we had a discussion once before. It's clearly not an obvious plant since the dogs get this in the yard.
OK, as near as I can tell it is Hackelia Opiz, or stick seed.

Now I have to go on a hunt and search- thanks F. for the lead.

It looks so innocuous : ) the problem is it's probably got not flowers now, just the darn seds and it must be all green.

I think you are right.  I also think it must be a ground cover type and may be mixed in our ivy.  I am definitely going on a search this weekend.

This is really not a good image and may be a slightly different species than mine.

Oh, NO.  Those are the WORST!  I don't even like thinking about them for fear that they might be lurking out there somewhere ready to leap onto my dogs' coats when I don't have the time to deal with them.  So pesky.
