We have an on going discussion in the photography group.  Shoot the Moon.  Many of these shots were taken with a telephoto lens.  Not tonight.  All you need is a regular camera or even your cell phone.  I'll be taking the music of Nora Jones with me ( thank you Donna).  Here is the music.

There are a lot of old legions about the SuperMoon: going insane, going blind.. anyway, it is powerful.

BRIAN WILLIAMS explains in this next video about the Supermoon

Try to capture Scale and join us  with your pictures in the discussion.

Even if you don't feel like taking pictures, enjoy a beautiful evening outside with your dogs.

Here is how:

The moon will rise at 9:35 EST tonight.  The first hour or two is the best for capturing the moon.

I live in between Cleveland and Pittsburgh.  Oh and just north of Columbus... South of Detroit and Syracuse, either way.  So maybe not 2nd on this particular survey..  but darn close.  I'm in the top 5

Basically, by looking at this chart--I am dead in the middle.

I have a feeling we did this before. BTW drizzling as of 8:55.

Nope, we never have had this conversation.  Just saying, I'm a lot younger so I do remember.  I forgive  your forgetfulness.

Wow, you are getting harsh, remember be kind : )

Now that I re-read this, it was kind of mean. I am rubbing my fingers through all my gray hair and thinking... wow.  My apologies.

Okey dokey.

And young'un, I may have been thinking of this. So there.

Oh good heavens... Really? We are number one?!? I cannot show this to my husband. At least five times a week he starts grumbling about moving and, "why do we live here anyway?" and, "family, schmamily...they can come visit us in S. California". Luckily we are headed into the fleeting four months of the year in which Seattle weather attempts to redeem itself.

I'm sure no moon will be visible here tonight...

It seems I have encountered the opposite problem. There was so much sun yesterday I thought it might be a miracle given how things had been going lately. I spent ALL day outside without thinking of the consequences and by 9pm last night I realized I was sick sick sick from the sun. Isn't that cruel?? Withhold sun for so long that you're not used to it, so when you try to soak it up when it finally arrives it makes you sick. I slept 12 hours last night, waking up occassionally for some water and ibuprofen, and still woke up to a headache so bad I thought my head was splitting open. My face is red like a tomato. And now I missed my volunteer gig at the dog rescue walkathon. I feel as if I'm nursing a hangover. If only I can get through this cup of coffee, it might not be too late to go and participate in the event ...

I did not get to see the moon, but I suppose it won't be too late if I try tonight. I'll get out my DSLR!

Oh Sherri, I'm sorry.  The sun can really do a job on you...feel better.

Thanks Jane. I'm getting there.
