Oliver (9 months) keeps opening the kitchen trash can - we have tried turning it around to face the wall (its the kind with the foot petal) but he is still doing it. Suggestions?
We have not been able to break Ned of trash digging. He has trained us to make sure the pantry and bathroom doors are closed. The wastebaskets in the laundry and our bedrooms stylishly sit on top of the dresser or counter. I have heard that dogs hate lemon and have been meaning to try to "bait" our smaller wastebaskets with it, but I haven't tried it out yet.
The Simple Human Butterfly can is the best trash can (for humans and for dogs). Rouser is 27.5 inches at the withers and, while he has figured out how to step on the foot pad, it is too tall for him to get anything out of the can while still keeping his foot on the pad. Also, the way it opens up makes it difficult for him to get in there. He now leaves it completely alone.
